Young Leaders

Mentoring 200+ young leaders to be changemakers in all spheres of society.

With more than half of Uganda’s population under the age of 16, JENGA knows that investing in young people has never been more important. In order to truly make a positive and sustainable impact in Uganda, it is essential to reach out to young people – the future leaders of this nation.

Carefully selected young men and women, who have been identified as potential leaders in their churches, schools and neighbourhoods, are enrolled in a structured discipleship programme. Through training and intentional mentoring, these young people are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills and inspiration to make a positive change to bring transformation to all spheres of society.

Vincent’s Story

Vincent’s father passed away in 2005 and because his mother was unable to care for him, he went to live with his uncle who already had ten children to care for with few resources. Seeing that Vincent needed support, JENGA paid for his secondary school and university fees. Without this, he would not have been able to complete his education and it is likely that his only job opportunities basic subsistence farming, working very hard for very little pay.

Now that many doors have been opened for him, Vincent has hopes of becoming an international businessman. Wonderfully, he has now full-time employment working for a green energy company!

Through Young Leaders, Vincent said, “I gained such a confidence.” As he went on to become a leader in the program, he enjoyed seeing the growth in people’s skills and character, encouraging them, and calling them to higher places.
Reflecting on all God has done in his life and the ways that God has used JENGA, Vincent says that “JENGA picked me from nowhere and made me someone.”
