When we first met Solomon*, he had spent four long years living on the streets. He and his three siblings were raised by a single mother who struggled to provide for them on her own. Solomon eventually ran away from home and ended up on the streets because of the lack of food and other challenges they faced.
Solomon joined Suubi when he was 17 years old. He dreamed of becoming a tailor and successfully completed a 6-month vocational course.
After Solomon graduated from Suubi House, he was resettled back to his home community, where he began his tailoring business. We supported him with a sewing machine and materials to get started, and while he saves his profits, we continue to help with his living costs until he can become fully independent.
Solomon has proven himself as a determined, hardworking young man, and we know his future is bright!
