JENGA is honoured to have three boards in Uganda, the UK and the US, who are responsible for governance, transparency and accountability.
Joseph Mulungi is married to the lovely Betty and the proud father of eight children. Pastor of Redeemed Community Church and been in ministry since 1983. Occasional minister in ‘Youth With A Mission’ and board member of ‘Mto Moyoni’. He leads the City Covenant Altar for Jinja city and is the founding member of Busoga (tribe) Prayer Altar. Overseer of ‘Kings Redeemer Children’s Home’ and a lover of intercession, his family and yams cooked in banana leaves.
Juliet believes in life transformation and is a champion of empowering women and girls. As a founding JENGA Trustee, she spearheaded JENGA’s Community Managed Microfinance and Economic Empowerment program strategy. Her passion to help women and girls is drawn from her childhood experiences and many years of working with marginalized communities, not only in Uganda but across Africa and around the world. Juliet has also founded and supported several charity organisations to design and roll out impactful programs.
Dr Mary holds a PHD in Applied Sciences, a Master of Philosophy in Environmental studies (Economics). She also has an MA in Organizational Leadership and Management, and a Bachelor of Education degree specializing in Economics/Business. Mary is a certified expert in strategic, livelihoods and change management, with over 25 years of experience in senior leadership, institutional and systems development, stakeholder management and relationship building; development and influencing team dynamics through coaching and mentoring.
Co-Founder and Country Director of JENGA and the overseer for everything across Wanale hill. Planter of 12 churches and Senior Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church. Recent Uganda Christian University Organisational Leadership and Management Masters graduate. He gives great hugs and makes the best pancakes you’ll ever taste.
Pastor Wilberforce Okumu is a Christian minister and the Senior Pastor of Pearl Haven Christian Center in Mbale. He is married to Sarah, a high school teacher and minister, and they have three wonderful children. Wilberforce and Sarah are the founding leaders of Living Water Ministries Uganda, a three-pronged ministry that includes the local church, leadership training, and Global Outreach – preaching Jesus to the unreached in Uganda and abroad.

Jacob has been a board member since October 2025. Married with one child and is a regular member of one of our partner churches; SMB. Jacob works at Mission Aviation Fellowship, and when free he can usually be found beating his father at Golf!
Jo joined JENGA in the early days, back in 2005, living in Mbale for six years and serving as Programme Director. Since returning home to the UK she has continued to love being part of the JENGA family, visiting regularly, leading teams and serving as a JENGA UK Trustee. She is Team Vicar of Singleton Community Church, part of Ashford Town Parish, Kent.
John serves as Chairman and Treasurer for the UK Board. He has held executive leadership roles in the public, private and voluntary sectors for over thirty years. A Chartered Accountant by training, he has been involved in business for most of his life and is currently involved in a number of organisations, either as an investor, advisor or chairman. He has a wealth of experience and we’re grateful to have him as part of the team.
Jonathan became involved with JENGA through his home church in Canterbury, and spent six months in Uganda in 2008 as a volunteer. Ever since, the people of Mbale and the team at JENGA have held a special place in his heart. A long-term JENGA supporter, Jonathan works in business as a Management Consultant focused on energy, with experience in strategy, operations and organisational transformation.
Martin is one of JENGA’s original board members and was the leader of the first ever team to come out to JENGA Uganda. After many years in the recorded music industry he now works for Christians against poverty and is a faithful member of JENGA partner church SMB, Canterbury.
Mary met Vincent and Robby, the founders of JENGA, back in 2005 during her first trip to Uganda. She was captivated by our work in Mbale and returned to volunteer with us for a year. Mary is now based in leafy Surrey and is proud to be supporting JENGA and the work we do in helping the most disadvantaged and being a voice for the voiceless.
Olivia, a former JENGA volunteer, is more formally known to the team as ‘Pastor Olivia’ since her love of preaching began in Mbale. Having studied Theology and then worked as a Children’s and Youth Pastor for 5 years, Olivia has just begun working as a School Chaplain in Twickenham. Olivia hopes to visit Mbale again soon, to spend time with loved ones and enjoy her favourite meal, Matoke and beans!
JENGA USA is a stand-alone 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the USA (EIN: 83-2480569) which provides grants to JENGA Uganda and other approved partners in the Mbale region.
Al was a long time volunteer, serving with JENGA Uganda, with his family for 5 years. Heading back to the US in 2018, he’s continued in his passion for ministry, serving in his church, one of JENGA’s partners; Trinity Church in New York City.
Amanda has known and loved the work of JENGA Uganda since 2007. Over the years, she has grown in her admiration for JENGA’s commitment to the many people they work with in Mbale. As a Ugandan living in the US, Zukuka Bora coffee is a must-have in her survival kit to brace Chicago’s brutal winters, where she works in higher education administration.
After first spending time in Mbale in 2010, Andy has witnessed both up close and from afar how we aim to embody a holistic vision of the Gospel. Since 2019 Andy has been involved in JENGA USA, with a vision to facilitate generosity toward the Mbale region from the US. Andy also serves as a pastor at Trinity Church in Larchmont, NY, and Greenwich, CT.
Derek has been one of our supporters since bumping into our Co-Founder, Robby in 2007. He genuinely believes there is not a more effective community development organisation on the planet. Derek co-founded and leads a non profit working with surgeons to take better care of children in need of brain surgery.
Jennifer has been the Treasurer of JENGA USA since 2019 and has the pleasure of facilitating generosity from donors all across the United States. Prior to her retirement, Jennifer had a career in Accounting and Finance and in addition to her work with JENGA, she serves on the Board and is currently the Treasurer for her church, Trinity Church in Greenwich, CT.
In one of those bizarre life-changing moments Allan was assigned a seat next to Robby Keen (pre-JENGA) on a near-empty plane leaving Entebbe. The hours of discussion which followed consolidated a lasting friendship and a partnership around JENGA. These days Allan mainly manages the transfer of donations from Australia and stands ready to serve however he can.
