Education is key to breaking the cycle of generational poverty. JENGA’s Education Sponsorship programme connects poor and vulnerable children with donors who are willing to sponsor them throughout their primary, secondary or tertiary education. It gives them a chance at a different life.
Sponsorship supplies students with school, tutoring and examination fees. Their needs for scholastic materials, a uniform, shoes, and one meal per day are also included. In addition to providing these everyday essentials, JENGA also supports local schools – even facilitating partnerships between Ugandan institutions and UK-based counterparts. Monthly training sessions where students meet together to receive help and encouragement are also conducted as a part of the Education Programme. Secondary students are offered lifestyle guidance in areas such as sexuality, personal hygiene, and adolescent health.
